WebMaxy Analyzer maps and visualises how people engage with a website: session recordings, interactive heatmaps of their clicks, surveys and polls. There are a lot of ways in it to find out how a site is actually being used.

An all-in-one analytics tool built to show a business what its visitors intend, not just how many of them turned up.

WebMaxy came to us with the idea of a feature-packed analyzer that would help businesses understand the intentions of their website visitors through smarter analytics. They wanted the whole tool to be genuinely easy to use and engaging with it.

After thorough research they chose Sphinx Solutions as the technology partner for the web application. Building a fully featured analytics tool took considerable research and planning before any of it was written.

Our team evaluated the concept and built to it. Launching something that analyses user behaviour well is not a small undertaking, and we delivered the web application with the interface and the advanced features WebMaxy were after.

The challenge

WebMaxy set out to build a tool that reads overall user behaviour through a wide set of features: session recordings, heatmaps, push notifications, funnel view, surveys and polls, form analytics and more besides.

Among several product concepts, WebMaxy Analyzer is the all-in-one: session recordings, click and scroll maps, surveys and feedback, in one tool.

The biggest challenge we faced on the project was the sheer amount of competition in this market. The aim was to build something distinctive enough to stay a step ahead of it.

Our developers planned the strategy and built a solid wireframe first, which is what made the development straightforward when it started. Every feature was worked through on its own terms rather than assembled from a list.

We followed an agile process throughout, which is how the fundamentals stayed in hand and the problems that came up during development got dealt with as they arrived.

The solution

Sphinx helped WebMaxy build a feature-rich analytics tool that identifies user behaviour and the patterns in it. The objective was to make it powerful and convenient at the same time, for tracking what people do on a website.

  1. Funnel view. It sets out the steps of the customer journey, which is what lets a business lift conversions by improving that journey and fixing what is breaking in it.
  2. Heatmaps. A visual read of behaviour on the page, showing which sections take the clicks and hold attention, and which get scrolled past.
  3. Session recording. Video of a real visit, so every mouse movement, keypress, click and scroll can be watched back rather than inferred.
  4. Alongside those we built form analytics, surveys and feedback sections, so the tool tracks what people do and also asks them about it.

Sphinx designed and developed the whole user experience, handled the backend integrations, and launched a robust, high-end analyzer for WebMaxy on time.
