A platform on the web and on mobile
One learning environment reaching students, teachers and schools, with the same library and the same experience wherever it is opened.
Overview
Lia Education came to Sphinx Solutions to build a learning platform for school children, on the web and on mobile. The idea was straightforward and hard to do well: take the school syllabus and give a child eight different ways into every topic, so that whichever one suits them is there.
Make your class a joy and a privilege. Educational videos, games, quizzes, diagrams and puzzles, filed by class and by subject, in English and in Odia.
We handled full-stack development: the interfaces, the backend services, user authentication, the content management system behind the library, and the analytics that tell a school how its pupils are getting on.
A child arrives and picks a class from LKG through to 12, or goes straight to a subject. From there the same topic is available as a quiz game, an interactive diagram, a flow chart, a vocabulary game, a comprehensive quiz, a puzzle, a brains game or a presentation they build themselves.
Two doors lead in, one for a student and one for a school, and the whole platform runs in English or Odia. The result is a system Lia Education can keep adding to, that stays quick as the library grows.
Client Requirement
01
One learning environment reaching students, teachers and schools, with the same library and the same experience wherever it is opened.
02
Secure login and authentication for students, teachers and administrators, with role-based access so each sees what belongs to them and nothing else.
03
Clear and appealing enough that a pupil in LKG and a pupil in class 12 can both find their way around without being taught how.
04
Real figures on how a child is doing and how much they are engaging, so parents and schools can see progress rather than guess at it.
05
Room for a growing library, changing content and new features, without the platform slowing down as it fills up.
06
Quick to start, dependable in use and no downtime, because a lesson interrupted is a lesson lost.
Lia Education needed to hold the attention of school children across a wide spread of ages, devices and situations, with a library that keeps growing and content that keeps changing.
A child who finds a quiz dull might take to a puzzle, a diagram or a flow chart. The platform had to offer all of them without becoming a maze.
Learning material was scattered. Pupils reached course content one way, teachers tracked progress by hand, and administrators had no live view of any of it. Engagement suffered for it.
The platform also had to carry two languages, two kinds of account and fourteen year groups without the interface turning into a filing cabinet.
Underneath, the backend had to scale as user numbers and content grew, handle dynamic updates and progress tracking, and exchange data securely, all without costing the platform its speed.
We built a single learning environment across web and mobile, with the whole library reachable from one place and the same experience on every device.
The result is a fast, polished platform that supports a growing library and keeps children coming back to it.
Sphinx Solutions delivered a bilingual K-12 learning platform on web and mobile: a library filed by class and subject, eight interactive formats for every topic, an Olympiad section, and separate ways in for students and for schools, on a secure backend built to scale.
“Working with Sphinx Solutions was smooth from the start. Their team grasped our idea for Lia Education and turned it into a robust, genuinely usable platform. From the design to the way it works, every part of it showed their dedication. We could not have wished for a better technical partner.”
How We Work
Step 1
We worked through the goals, the audience and what an e-learning platform for school children genuinely needs to do.
Step 2
A secure, scalable architecture able to carry user activity, a growing library and constant content uploads without losing speed.
Step 3
An interface with clear navigation and layouts built to hold a child’s attention rather than test their patience.
Step 4
Progress tracking, content management, user authentication and notifications, with admin controls behind them.
Step 5
Functional, usability and performance testing across web and mobile, so the experience holds up on both.
Step 6
Launch, then ongoing maintenance, performance work and technical support as the platform grows.
Implementation
We worked with the Lia Education team on their objectives for a complete learning platform, and on what would actually improve how children learn with it.
A scalable, stable structure able to support a dynamic library, growing content and progress tracking across two languages and fourteen year groups.
A modern, responsive interface that navigates easily and gives the same experience on mobile and on the web.
Content management, the eight learning formats, progress tracking and notifications, built for engagement rather than for a feature list.
Extensive testing for performance, data security and dependability across the range of devices children actually use.
Launch, then continuing support, feature upgrades and performance work.
Impact
One platform brings the whole library together, so a child gets to the topic they need without hunting for it.
Smooth navigation and reliable performance keep pupils in the app, and eight formats mean the material meets them where they are.
Tablets and the web perform consistently, which is what makes a platform usable in a classroom and at home alike.
The engineering and the design were built together, which is why the result feels like a place to learn rather than a piece of software.
Tech stack
In closing
Lia Education shows what an education platform looks like when the format is taken as seriously as the content. Rather than putting the syllabus online and calling it learning, it gives a child eight ways into every topic and lets them choose, across every year group from LKG to class 12, in English or in Odia.
We delivered it as a secure, scalable platform on web and mobile, with the analytics for schools to follow progress and the headroom for the library to keep growing.
What people usually ask about Lia Education and about building something like it.
Lia Education is a learning platform for school children on the web and on mobile. Pick a class from LKG to 12 or go straight to a subject, and every topic is there as a quiz game, an interactive diagram, a flow chart, a vocabulary game, a puzzle or a presentation to build. It runs in English and in Odia, with separate accounts for students and for schools.
We handled the whole build, from UI/UX design through to backend development, delivering a platform that is secure, scalable and pleasant to use.
React Native and React.js at the front, with TypeScript. Node.js and Express.js behind them, MongoDB and Redis for data, and AWS for hosting. That combination is what gives it cross-platform performance and room to grow.
By never presenting a topic only one way. Easy navigation and eight formats for the same material mean a child who finds one approach dull has another to try.
We build education platforms that are tailored rather than templated, and we take usability and educational impact as seriously as the engineering.
