What is account contact management?

Account contact management is the work of collecting and organizing the details that identify a customer account: name, address, contact information, and anything else tied to that customer’s record. Most teams do this in a customer relationship management (CRM) system, which stores customer information according to a set of rules.

CRM software tracks the customer relationship across the whole lifecycle, including sales, marketing, digital commerce, and service management. Because it pulls account data from every touchpoint, a business can see how its customers behave. That helps it work out how to win new customers and which extra services to offer existing ones.
